Community Engagement

Foundation 45 Mitsubishi hosted a Trunk or Treat event. Commissioner Eva Garcia joined us as well as the Aldine Fire Department and the Ponderosa Fire Department. We had local businesses join us (Rocket Wraps, TBC Fencing, DJ Shocky & local realtors). They all decorated trunks and brought goodies for the kids! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and joined us!

We sponsored 30 families in our community that would otherwise be spending the holiday without any presents or any holiday cheer. Single parents, parents facing illness, and grandparents with custody of grandchildren often struggle the most during the holiday season. Facing the prospect of not being able to put gifts under the tree each year, pay utilities or put food on the table for their families. Our sponsors received a package containing information on the family that they will be sponsoring, consisting double or single parent household with 1 - 6 children. In this package, we provided a photo of the adopted family and a holiday list that specifies what this family needs and wishes are for the year. The list may consist of household items, clothing, shoes, appliances, electronic devices, and/or toys. We will also provide you with their clothing and shoe sizes if you choose to purchase these items. Items that are donated to the families may be new or slightly used. You are open to more items outside of the list for these families if you wish. This is a rewarding event for both the sponsors and families.

Foundation 45 donated to T.H.A.A.R. Houston, in addition to supporting their calendar release event for the 2022 calendar. T.H.A.A.R. raises funds to be donated to Roundup for Autism/Autism Treatment Center of Texas to help with autism awareness and research. Roundup for Autism is a Texas 501c3 non-profit organization. They gained donations for t-shirts, posters, and the firefighter 2022-23 THAAR calendars; The firefighters signed the merch, and photo opportunities took place with them as well. All proceeds from the event benefited Autism Research. THAAR is also accepting monetary donations for the charity (http://www.roundupforautism.org)
